Grand LIA for Piquentum Brut Nature
Following Gold in Package Design – Beverages, the project received the Grand LIA, the highest recognition in the broader Package Design category at the 2026 London International Awards
Studio Sonda has won a Grand LIA at the 2026 London International Awards (LIA) for Label Created by the Wine Itself, developed for Piquentum Brut Nature, an organic sparkling wine from Istria, Croatia.
The project first won Gold in the Beverages subcategory of Package Design. It was then selected from among the Gold-winning entries to receive the Grand LIA in Package Design, marking the biggest international recognition for the project to date.
One of the leading international creative competitions, the London International Awards recognizes excellence across advertising, design and communications. Its international juries evaluate work in person in Las Vegas, with Grand LIA awards honoring outstanding work selected from the Gold-winning entries in each broader category.
The award recognizes a design concept that goes beyond communicating a product’s qualities to making them tangible. Studio Sonda created the label using yeast sediment from the wine’s secondary fermentation, combined with paper pulp made from the winery’s own paper waste. The organic material continues to change over time, making each bottle unique and turning the label into a physical expression of the wine’s production philosophy.
The Grand LIA adds to a series of international honors for the project, including an ADC Gold Cube, a Merit Award at The One Show, Gold at the European Design Awards, a Red Dot Award and a Cannes Lions shortlist, alongside four Gold awards at Dani komunikacija.
For Studio Sonda, an independent creative studio based in Vižinada, Istria, the project reflects an approach to design that starts with understanding the essence of a product. In this case, the label does not simply tell the story of the wine. It is part of that story.
