Lectures by Samir Ljuma and Veton Nurkollari

The lectures are free and open to everyone, especially those who work with young people, artists, film enthusiasts, and activists.

Coming to Vižinada are Samir Ljuma – cinematographer and producer whose documentary Honeyland was nominated for two Academy Awards in 2020 and won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance – and Veton Nurkollari, artistic director of DokuFest, one of the most important documentary and short film festivals in Southeast Europe.

The lectures by these two renowned experts offer a unique opportunity for inspiration, practical advice, and key insights applicable to everyday work with young people, with a special focus on environmental protection and the integration of marginalized groups, and the ways in which film art can contribute to these goals. Film screenings will follow each lecture.

Samir Ljuma | Honeyland Case Study
Through a case study, Samir Ljuma will share insights into the impact of the award-winning documentary Honeyland. Discover how documentary films can serve as a tool for highlighting themes of sustainability and ecological ethics, as well as environmental responsibility and the preservation of cultural heritage beyond the screen.

Veton Nurkollari | City as Film Stage
How can cities, like Prizren, become a stage for major cultural events? In his lecture, Veton explores ways of using public spaces and less obvious locations to create compelling venues for exhibitions and performances, transforming the city into a dynamic cultural scene.

To attend the lectures, please complete the registration form.

Samir and Veton will deliver their lectures as part of the international project Atelier Pelikula, funded through the Erasmus+ programme.
